Description

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers responsible for clinical content management systems (CCMS) and diagnostic report generation tools. Own the technical roadmap, partnering with product and clinical stakeholders to define requirements and priorities, while ensuring scalable, governed systems across the clinical content lifecycle. Evolve AI/LLM-enabled governance to support responsible use aligned with clinical accuracy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers across staff, senior, mid-level, and junior levels.
  • Own the technical roadmap for clinical content management systems.
  • Partner with product management, clinical content authors, medical/clinical affairs, and reporting stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Design and deliver tools to define, store, and provide clinical content (knowledge, templates, report components) for consistent diagnostic report generation.
  • Oversee clinical content lifecycle systems: authoring, versioning, review and approval workflows, publishing, and content quality metrics.
  • Establish engineering standards and processes including code review, testing, CI/CD, and incident response.
  • Manage team capacity, hiring, performance reviews, career development, and succession planning.
  • Drive architecture that scales storage, delivery, and governance of clinical content.
  • Champion automation of content assembly, template management, and report generation.
  • Support test content and report template development initiatives through resource allocation and technical guidance.
  • Communicate technical strategy, progress, and risks to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Define and evolve processes/governance for applying AI and LLM tools to clinical content management workflows.
  • Remove blockers, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of commitments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years related professional software engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a technical leadership role (team lead, tech lead, or management)
  • 2+ years experience managing software engineering teams (hiring, performance management, career development)
  • 5+ years technical foundation in Python, relational databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and modern web development frameworks
  • 5+ years delivering complex software systems using RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines
  • 2+ years managing teams working with front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • 3+ years setting priorities and driving execution across concurrent workstreams
  • 2+ years building and developing engineering teams across multiple experience levels
