Work schedule/locations: Monday 8:00am–6:00pm in Orland Park, IL; rotating other weeks Tuesdays/Thursdays 9:00am–3:00pm in Oak Brook, IL.

Description

Perform skilled blood collections and support lab testing by collecting specimens from all age groups, preparing samples, and maintaining accurate patient and specimen information.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
• Certification/training must come from an accredited agency in lieu of work experience
• Proven track record providing exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay

$17.50–$24.50 per hour

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan (quarterly bonus based on performance metrics).
