Description

Reliable, high-performing software supports investment professionals in making informed decisions and running critical business processes. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will evolve the Portfolio Analytics area of SimCorp Dimension, strengthening backend services and APIs that support clients.

You will join an agile team of 5–7 colleagues working with C#, .NET, Dyalog APL, Oracle, and AI-assisted development tools. The team improves and supports the Asset Manager module, with C# and Oracle as its main technologies.

Key focus areas include maintainability, system performance, continuous integration and delivery, and migration to a unified cloud platform. The role offers opportunities to grow in technical leadership or guide others with existing leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product and engineering colleagues to understand customer needs, challenge assumptions, shape solutions, and deliver tested, supportable software.
  • Design, build, and maintain backend components and APIs using C#/.NET and related technologies.
  • Improve system performance, maintainability, reliability, and build efficiency through pragmatic engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly for exploration, implementation, testing, documentation, and code review.
  • Contribute to automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices for predictable, high-quality releases.
  • Help shape technical decisions and share knowledge through code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and constructive collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing production software with C# and/or APL, or comparable strong backend engineering experience.
  • Interest in technical design and practical decision-making for scalable, high-performing applications, services, or APIs.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools, with sound judgement regarding quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn Dyalog APL and deepen knowledge of investment-management software.
  • Collaborative approach to problem-solving, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership growth.
  • Experience with Angular, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Oracle databases, or financial systems is welcome but not required.
