About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Product Owner to join the Product Cluster Online Sales.

In this role, you will act as the key link between Business Product Owners and development teams, ensuring that business initiatives are properly assessed, prioritized, planned, and delivered across the cluster.

You will oversee the delivery roadmap across multiple teams, coordinate dependencies, support investment and feasibility assessments, and ensure that the cluster's delivery capacity is aligned with business priorities. The role combines product ownership, delivery governance, and portfolio coordination responsibilities in a complex multi-team environment.

How you will get the job done

  • Own and maintain the delivery roadmap across the Product Cluster Online Sales
  • Align business priorities, delivery commitments, and team capacity across multiple development teams
  • Coordinate planning and sequencing of initiatives, including management of cross-team dependencies and delivery trade-offs
  • Provide visibility into upcoming work, capacity constraints, delivery risks, and roadmap progress to stakeholders and leadership
  • Lead initial assessments of new business initiatives and demands
  • Coordinate high-level effort estimations and technical feasibility assessments with engineering teams and architects
  • Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions, and implementation constraints early in delivery lifecycles
  • Support prioritisation and investment decisions based on business value, complexity, and delivery capacity
  • Ensure initiatives are sufficiently defined and ready before entering delivery planning and execution
  • Oversee delivery progress across multiple teams and proactively address bottlenecks, escalations, and delivery challenges
  • Support release planning and coordination of initiatives impacting multiple products and platforms
  • Partner with Business Product Owners to translate business priorities into executable delivery plans
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Architects, UX, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery alignment
  • Facilitate decision-making around priorities, dependencies, and delivery sequencing across teams
  • Support and mentor Product Owners while driving consistent product ownership and backlog management practices across the cluster

Skills and experience you will need

  • Fluency in English (C1)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, IT Product Owner, Delivery Lead, or similar role within software delivery
  • Proven experience managing delivery roadmaps across multiple teams
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle
  • Experience conducting feasibility assessments, effort estimations, and delivery planning
  • Strong understanding of dependencies, capacity planning, and delivery governance
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups in a matrix organisation
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to balance business expectations with technical constraints and delivery realities
  • Experience working closely with software engineering teams, architects, and Business Product Owners

Nice to have

  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with API-based architectures and backend dependencies
  • Fluent spoken and written German
  • Experience working with user-facing applications in regulated markets (e.g. insurance or banking)
  • Basic UX understanding and ability to identify real user needs in digital products
  • Experience working with design tools such as Figma
