About the role

You will join the Operations Projects team, responsible for delivering IT Infrastructure and Operations projects across Data Centre, Cloud, Networks, Workplace, Support, Service Management, Integrations, Facilities, and Enterprise Architecture.

How you will get the job done

• Run and manage multiple complex projects with budgets of approximately £1m–£2m, taking responsibility for delivery using formal project-management techniques.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, meet business and technical requirements, and remain within agreed budgets.
• Manage internally resourced projects and any third parties involved in delivery.
• Create a charter for each project based on the agreed scope, defining the budget, resources, schedule, delivery approach, and sequencing of work.
• Drive predictable, consistent, and efficient project delivery; ensure compliance with internal IT requirements and a smooth transition of solutions into production.
• Manage vendor relationships and resource utilisation, minimising external onshore and offshore resources and ensuring timely onboarding and offboarding.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders and act as the key point of contact for each project.
• Identify issues and risks, analyse options, manage impacts, and take action to mitigate delays and keep projects on track.
• Monitor, manage, and report progress against milestones and budgets, providing transparent communications to management and executive leadership.
• Track and manage project costs, including SOWs, purchase orders, contracts, and internal resource assignments; maintain accurate forecasts and accruals in SAP and Clarity.
• Coordinate project documentation, plans, change requests, approvals, lifecycle steps, and compliance-gate requests to maintain alignment with the agreed schedule.

Skills and experience you will need

• Fluency in English.
• At least 5 years of successful experience managing IT infrastructure, workplace, or application projects in a technically complex and dynamic environment; experience in a global finance, insurance, or regulated industry is preferred.
• Strong project, financial, and change-management skills, including facilitation.
• Ability to lead and direct projects under a unified project lens while maintaining business outcomes and priority constraints.
• Excellent communication skills and experience managing differing stakeholder interests.
• Ability to create meaningful reports and summarise project health status for stakeholder presentations.
• Ability to manage and track project costs and budgets against agreed baselines.
• Ability to lead functional and geographically distributed workstreams and coordinate unified business delivery.
• Consulting and collaborative working style, with a culture of accountability and knowledge sharing.
• Openness to developing less experienced project managers, setting behavioural and quality standards, and building high-performing teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
