Job Summary and Responsibilities

Join a Psychiatric Associates team providing outpatient care in the Council Bluffs, IA area. The team includes psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, licensed social workers, and patient care navigators. Inpatient and outpatient practice models are available to support career goals.

This role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with shared call coverage and the option to pursue a hybrid inpatient/outpatient practice. The primary focus is delivering treatment, intervention, and prevention services to children and youth from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including those with behavioral and substance abuse issues.

The position includes minor academic activities, bedside teaching for resident and fellowship programs, and ongoing professional development. Success is measured through improved mental well-being and functional outcomes, evidence-based treatment, therapeutic alliances, community engagement, clinical benchmarks, patient satisfaction, teaching, mentorship, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Tailor practice based on clinical interests and expertise.
  • Conduct evaluations and provide ongoing medication treatment.
  • Opportunity to provide individual and/or family therapy.
  • Provide outpatient direct patient care as a clinical educator.
  • Supervise residents and child and adolescent fellows.
  • Use EPIC EMR.

Faculty Appointment

Faculty appointment from Creighton University School of Medicine.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Guaranteed two-year base salary of $310,000 per year.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Adult Psychiatry.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Active Iowa license or eligibility to obtain an unrestricted Iowa license.
  • DEA in good standing with no restrictions.
  • BLS certification.
  • Record of excellence in clinical care and education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care.
