Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an academic and clinical Neurosurgeon, you will provide comprehensive general and functional neurosurgery services as part of a highly respected team. You will have the opportunity to work with learners, residents, and fellows from Creighton University School of Medicine.
The Neuroscience Institute integrates medical experts in neurology, neuroradiology, neuro-critical care, radiation oncology, and neurosurgery to provide advanced care for patients with complex neurological disorders.
To be successful in this role, you will be board eligible or board certified in Neurosurgery. This opportunity is suited to physicians passionate about providing comprehensive neurosurgery services, using a patient-centered approach, and collaborating with colleagues. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to thrive in a collegial, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications • MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent, and eligibility for state medical licensure • Completion of an Internal Medicine residency program and a Hematology/Oncology fellowship program • Board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment Information on the department/practice The WVU Cancer Institute provides care to more than 125,000 patients each year. Multidisciplinary medical teams use current cancer therapies, sophisticated technologies, and patient-driven research in state-of-the-art facilities. The Department of Medical Oncology includes more than 75 physicians and advanced practice professionals at 15 practice sites across a multi-state network. The practice offers an academic setting with collaborative programs and an active clinical trials program, pharmaceutical studies, and an emerging statewide clinical trials network. The West Virginia University Health System includes more than 20 member hospitals serving West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania. It is anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center and includes specialty and subspecialty care, a multi-organ transplant center, and a 150-bed Children’s Hospital.
