Description

As a Primary Care Physician, you will serve as a trusted first point of contact for patients, providing holistic, personalized care and building long-term relationships. You will deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families; prevent, diagnose, and treat a broad range of conditions; develop personalized care plans; and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

Essential Functions

Patient Care

  • Provide routine check-ups, health assessments, and annual exams.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage chronic illnesses, acute conditions, and preventable diseases.
  • Prescribe medications and provide treatment plans for a wide range of health issues.
  • Perform physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Manage patients’ overall health care, including specialist referrals when necessary.
  • Counsel patients on lifestyle changes, including nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being.

Prevention & Health Promotion

  • Administer vaccinations and screenings and provide health education to promote preventive care.
  • Advise patients on wellness and disease-prevention strategies.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, current patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Document patient interactions, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Coordinate comprehensive care with nurses, medical assistants, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate treatment options, medication regimens, and health-management plans effectively to patients and families.

Medical Education & Research

  • Stay current on medical advancements and healthcare guidelines.
  • Attend continuing education programs, seminars, and medical conferences.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle a high volume of patients.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Previous primary care practice or related experience.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

Required License/Registration/Certification

  • Board certification or board eligibility in family medicine, internal medicine, or pediatrics, depending on the practice setting.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • BLS/ACLS certification.
