Position Overview

A full-time Hospitalist (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) is needed to provide comprehensive inpatient coverage across three affiliated hospitals in the Central Maine region:

  • Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) — Lewiston, Maine
  • Bridgton Hospital (BH) — Bridgton, Maine
  • Rumford Hospital (RH) — Rumford, Maine

This role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality inpatient care within a collaborative hospital network alongside physicians, specialists, and care teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized adult patients, including admissions, daily rounds, consultations, and discharges.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, nursing teams, case management, and ancillary staff.
  • Collaborate with emergency department physicians on admissions and patient management.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning to support patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Support clinical quality initiatives, patient-safety programs, and system-wide protocols.
  • Provide coverage across the three hospital campuses as part of an integrated hospitalist team.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Eligible for or able to obtain a Maine medical license
  • Active DEA registration
  • Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills

Pay Transparency

The estimated compensation range is $248,000 to $310,000 annually. Starting compensation will be determined during selection and may consider skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
