About the role

As a Junior Database Administrator, you will join the team responsible for building, running, and developing Linux Server-based Oracle Database Systems. The team carries out regular maintenance work, ensures integrity and availability, and plans and runs backup and recovery procedures. You will help ensure the smooth operation of existing Oracle databases, including problem analysis, incident management, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and coordination with external service providers.

How you will get the job done

  • Administer operating systems, database software, and databases.
  • Independently plan and execute maintenance work.
  • Support projects by creating and implementing technical concepts; act as a technical contact for application development and business teams.
  • Continuously develop the runtime environment and stay informed about new technologies.
  • Implement data model changes requested by application development.
  • Automate routine tasks through self-developed scripts.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Develop security concepts.
  • Develop backup and restore concepts for Oracle databases.
  • Troubleshoot and provide 2nd- and 3rd-level support.
  • Prioritize and handle workload effectively and provide reporting.

Skills and experience you will need

  • Fluency in English.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience administering Oracle databases and IT systems based on Enterprise Linux systems, such as RHEL.
  • Administrative experience with Red Hat Linux and providing IT infrastructure services.
  • Significant experience with ITIL processes: Service Request Management, Change and Release Management, and Incident Management.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Independent, team-oriented, and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Willingness to share knowledge with the team.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience with disaster recovery concepts.
