About the Position
Groome Industrial Services is seeking an Operator to join the team. The Vacuum Operator is responsible for maintaining and operating industrial equipment between locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety compliance by following all safe work practices, policies, and procedures
- Operate and maintain equipment associated with assigned services
- Perform hazard recognition awareness to remove workplace hazards
- Set up and perform assigned jobs
- Comply with DOT regulations and record-keeping requirements
- Inspect company vehicles, equipment, and tools before and after use
- Promote professional and safe work practices on assignments
- Assist with project planning, on-site inspections, procedures, and equipment specifications
- Communicate job status with management and customer representatives
- Perform field maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and tools
- Hook up and break down equipment using proper tools and procedures
- Inspect hoses, pumps, equipment, and work areas before starting jobs
- Operate company equipment according to company and plant rules
- Clean work areas and equipment after completing work
- Clean equipment for customers using pressurized water
- Remove debris using vacuum operations
- Rotate operation of boom, vacuum, and blasting equipment
- Neutralize equipment after debris removal when necessary
- Maintain organized supplies and equipment storage
- Safely excavate soil without disturbing underground utilities
- Work productively as part of a team
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and acceptable ID
- CDL Class A or B endorsement or ability to obtain
- Tanker endorsement required
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to meet I-9 requirements
- Mobile phone capable of SMS communication
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, night shifts, and travel when required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to complete required customer training courses
- Pass background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED
- TWIC card is a plus
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of safe vacuum and hydro-blast operations
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to withstand 70 psi back pressure
- Ability to work in confined, uneven, and physically demanding environments
- Ability to comply with all safety standards and procedures
- Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions
