Description

Provide comprehensive medical care to pediatric cardiology patients under supervision of a licensed physician at a children’s facility. You will assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and document care accurately. The assignment offers scheduled shift coverage with no call.

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories and perform physical examinations
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Prescribe medications
• Perform procedures as authorized by state regulations and the supervising physician
• Educate and counsel patients on preventative care and health management
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Document medical records accurately and thoroughly
• Stay current on medical advancements through continuing education

Requirements

• MPAS degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active and unencumbered PA license in New York
• National certification from the NCCPA
• Preferably at least 1 year of clinical experience in the specialty
