Description

Provide comprehensive primary care to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. You will perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, perform authorized procedures, document care, and collaborate with the healthcare team. Shift coverage is scheduled with no call.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care under physician supervision

• Take patient histories and perform physical examinations

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Develop and implement treatment plans

• Prescribe medications

• Perform procedures as authorized by state regulations and the supervising physician

• Educate and counsel patients on preventative care and health management

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

• Document medical records accurately and thoroughly

• Stay current on medical advancements through continuing education

Requirements

• MPAS degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program

• Active and unencumbered PA license in Iowa

• NCCPA national certification

• At least 1 year of clinical experience in the relevant specialty (preferred)
