Description

Provide critical care medical services to patients under physician supervision in an acute care hospital. You will take histories and perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostics, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, perform authorized procedures, educate patients, and document care accurately. This is a temporary locum tenens assignment supporting staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care under supervision of a licensed physician

• Conduct patient histories and physical examinations

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Develop and implement treatment plans

• Prescribe medications

• Perform procedures as authorized by state regulations and the supervising physician

• Educate and counsel patients on preventive care and health management

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

• Document medical records accurately and thoroughly

• Stay current on medical advancements through continuing education

Requirements

• MPAS degree from an accredited program

• Active and unencumbered PA license in New York

• NCCPA national certification

• Preferred: at least 1 year of clinical experience in the relevant specialty
