Description

Support the secure operation and further development of the organization’s IT infrastructure with a focus on application virtualization, mail systems, and Windows Server environments. You will provide and evolve the application virtualization setup (including operations of the current Xen/Citrix environment and a perspective move to Proxmox/Parallels RAS), administer Exchange Online solutions with security and archive tools, and maintain Windows Server and directory services. You’ll also handle ITIL-based incidents, requests, and changes and contribute to security risk processes and audit evidence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and develop application virtualization; operate the existing Xen/Citrix environment and support the migration path to Proxmox/Parallels RAS
  • Operate and optimize Exchange Online solutions including Microsoft Defender, Barracuda MailArchiv, and CodeTwo
  • Administer and develop the centralized and decentralized Windows Server landscape and related Active Directory services
  • Process incidents, requests, and changes in an ITIL environment; resolve root causes sustainably and implement improvement potentials
  • Contribute to risk analyses, protective measures, and reporting processes for security incidents; create evidence for audits and inspections
  • In the future, take ownership of individual IT services, define service levels, and ensure quality and availability
  • Plan purchases, evaluate offers, negotiate with vendors, and manage costs, lifecycle planning, and (in perspective) budgets for IT services
  • Bring forward ideas and accompany technical improvements and IT projects through to implementation

Requirements

  • Completed IT training (e.g., IT specialist for system integration) or comparable qualification
  • Ideally initial professional experience in IT administration
  • Ideally experience with Citrix and/or Parallels RAS and with deploying/administering virtualized applications
  • Comfort with Microsoft 365; ideally experience with Exchange Online
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2019 and 2025 plus Active Directory and/or Entra ID
  • Ability to challenge existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and independently develop solutions
  • Willingness to take responsibility, bring ideas, and develop professionally and personally
  • Willingness to cover occasional on-call duty (about 2–3 deployments per year)

Benefits

  • Company health insurance with an annual health budget of 300 EUR
  • Christmas and vacation pay
  • Approximately three days of mobile work per week
  • Employee benefits with 1,500+ partner companies
  • Bicycle leasing (BusinessBike)
  • Family-like working atmosphere with a committed team plus company and team events
