Description

Provide advanced, subject-matter technical support to maintain safe and efficient operating capacity of the National Airspace System (NAS) electronic systems. Plan, direct, coordinate, monitor, and maintain assigned NAS systems/facilities, including installing, evaluating, maintaining, modifying, and certifying NAS services and equipment. Analyze and resolve outages and performance deterioration while integrating Operational Risk Management and ensuring timely reporting for situation awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain integrity and safety of NAS service-delivery components and systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and perform maintenance and restoration activities with high independence.
• Analyze technical problems as they arise and resolve unique issues without managerial intervention.
• Initiate timely repair/restoration actions, considering backup systems and possible reconfiguration to minimize service interruptions.
• Provide operational reporting relevant to Situation Awareness (e.g., NOTAM, SAL paging).
• Apply Operational Risk Management (ORM) to restoration, schedule maintenance, and planned projects.
• Coordinate internal/external contacts and represent the organization as a primary point of contact on projects and programs.
• Serve as management representative during non-administrative hours (incumbent-in-charge).
• Accomplish real-time management of assigned NAS systems/facilities at the service integrity level.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Submit SF50 (required document).
• Designated or random drug testing required.
• Supervisor’s endorsement required for a permanent promotion.
• Specialized experience at the appropriate level is required and must be demonstrated in the resume/work history.
