Description

Support the cybersecurity mission by installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, software, and essential IT infrastructure. Contribute to data security and availability through daily backup and recovery operations, and support the optimal design, deployment, and management of cloud resources. Monitor cloud resources, report performance issues, and collaborate in interagency teams to stay current with emerging technologies and DoD best practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, software, and IT infrastructure

• Participate in daily backup and recovery system operations

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud resources across platforms

• Gather and report findings on cloud provisioning, configuration, and maintenance practices

• Monitor cloud resources and report performance issues for evaluation

• Work with interagency teams and participate in training opportunities

• Maintain awareness of DoD objectives and best practices

• Gather and report findings about technology vendors and products

• Contribute to IT financial aspects through assigned tasks

Requirements

• U.S. citizen

• Males born after 12/31/1959: registered or exempt from Selective Service

• Favorable suitability review and security clearance (may include Secret, Top Secret, SCI) with possible polygraph

• Maintain security eligibility; otherwise termination may occur

• Drug testing may be required

• Shift work and rotating shifts may be required

• Recall/on-call 24/7 may be required

• Complete DoD 8140 Foundational and/or Residential Qualification requirements and future credentialing as defined by DoD policy

• May be designated Mission Essential; may need to report or relocate within the U.S. during emergencies

• Qualifying experience: at least 1 year as a system administrator for cloud-based environments, including installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems aligned to an organization’s IT framework
