Description

Serve as an ATSS (SSC Coordinator) providing high-level technical support for the operation of the NAS, recognized as a technical expert on legacy and newly developed systems. Integrate, restore, test, and evaluate advanced service components, hardware/software systems, and processes to ensure service availability and reliability. Lead major SSC projects as principal technical specialist and project coordinator, resolving unique technical problems and coordinating locally or with outside contractors.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, restore, test, and evaluate new advanced service components and hardware/software systems

• Support NAS operations with an emphasis on availability and reliability of NAS services and products

• Resolve unique technical problems without managerial intervention

• Evaluate diagnostic and data outputs from multiple integrated systems to correct deficiencies found during CAI/JAi and related documentation workflows

• Assist with repair/restoration guidance, backup system availability, and reporting the status of critical events

• Own SSC projects end-to-end: planning, drawing/specifications review, implementation, Joint Acceptance Inspection, and asset disposition

• Act as SSC point of contact for locally completed projects and projects completed by outside contractors

• Identify staffing, funding, materials, and equipment requirements and track resource usage

• Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance to FAA employees, contractors, and other organizations

• Prioritize SSC workload using technical expertise and understanding of user and stakeholder needs

• Integrate Operational Risk Management (ORM) into planned activities

Requirements

• US citizenship required

• Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959

• Submit SF50

• Designated or random drug testing required

• Supervisor endorsement required for competitive promotions (not required for reassignments or ingrade/downgrade)

• Resume must demonstrate specialized experience in technology system interrelationships and automated aviation/navigation/electronics systems (civilian or military)

• Provide mandatory narrative responses for each Demonstrated Ability

• Security investigation may be required

• Some travel required
