Description

Serve as an ATSS (SSC Coordinator) technical expert responsible for a variety of functions directly tied to the operation of the NAS. You will plan, coordinate, and perform complex work with independence across legacy and newly developed NAS systems. The role emphasizes integrating new advanced service/service components and ensuring high availability and reliability for NAS users.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute SSC work supporting NAS operations.
• Integrate, restore, test, and evaluate new advanced service components, hardware/software systems, and processes.
• Manage SSC projects: initial planning, drawings and specifications review, implementation, Joint Acceptance Inspection, and disposition of assets.
• Act as SSC point of contact for locally completed and contractor-completed projects.
• Identify staffing, funds, materials, and equipment needs; track use of project resources.
• Provide training, mentoring, guidance, and advice to FAA employees, contractors, and other organizations.
• Prioritize SSC workload based on user and stakeholder needs.
• Integrate Operational Risk Management (ORM) into planning and ensure customers/users are included.
• Train and mentor other employees/technicians/trainees on difficult technical or operational issues.
• Support repair and/or restore service/system capability and report status of critical events.
• Develop guidance on overall NAS systems performance and investigate causes of system degradation.
• Collaborate with system users, planners, engineers, and contractors to support acceptance of new or modified systems.
• Create white papers recommending efficiency improvements through modification and use of existing or emerging technology.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required.
• Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must submit an SF50.
• Designated or random drug testing required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• Supervisory endorsement required.
• Demonstrated experience with technology system interrelationships and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems (typically at the next lower level such as Pay Band H/level III or FV/GS-12 or equivalent).
• Qualifications must be met by the closing date.
• Provide NARRATIVE statements for each Demonstrated Ability (and Quality Ranking Factors, if applicable).
