Description

You will build backend infrastructure that enables personalized, adaptive safety responses. You will own a low-latency behavioral data layer, a centralized rules-and-inference consequence engine, and a unified backend framework for delivering interventions. You will also unify abuse reporting using LLM-based classification and ML models, while designing for trust, auditability, explainability, and fairness.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate a low-latency per-user behavioral data layer aggregating signals (e.g., violation history, in-game reports, behavioral patterns) into a single queryable source of truth

• Build and evolve a centralized consequence/decision engine combining deterministic rules with ML risk signals

• Create a unified backend framework for delivering safety interventions that product teams can plug into

• Consolidate abuse reporting channels into a scalable backend system integrating LLM classification, agentic review workflows, and ML models

• Build serving infrastructure with strong explainability and fairness requirements

• Own end-to-end delivery: system design, migration, testing, and production operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems at scale

• Experience in Go or a comparable statically-typed backend language

• Strong experience designing distributed systems and service APIs (RPC/gRPC)

• Experience with data modeling for high-throughput event ingestion, caching, and low-latency read paths

• Experience building and evolving rules engines, workflow/decision systems, or similar stateful business-logic services

• Experience with streaming or batch pipelines feeding an ingestion layer/feature store; comfort partnering with ML engineers

• Production operations fundamentals: monitoring, alerting, oncall, capacity planning, and incident response

Benefits

• Annual salary range: $196,750–$243,290 USD (actual pay depends on job-related factors)
