Description

You will expand the backend and workflow engine, building APIs and mechanisms to execute workflow graphs. You will implement integrations with external systems, deploy to clients, and scale workers for reliability and performance. The role includes module design, testing, production diagnostics, and code review, with end-to-end ownership from project to maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend, APIs, and workflow graph execution mechanisms

• Build and evolve integrations with external systems

• Deploy the product to clients and integrate with their systems

• Scale workers; optimize performance and process reliability

• Design modules, write tests, perform production diagnostics, and conduct code reviews

• Own tasks end-to-end (project, deployment, maintenance)

• Align requirements with clients and the team; identify risks/blockers and propose solutions

• Share knowledge, participate in code review, and incorporate feedback

• Discuss technical solutions with clients in English

Requirements

• Very strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js; experience building production backend systems

• Production experience with Temporal (or another durable execution workflow engine) and willingness to work with Temporal

• Understanding of determinism and replay, retries, durable timers, and workflow resumptions; ability to safely change code handling ongoing processes

• Knowledge of idempotency, deduplication, partial outage handling, and compensations; understanding dependencies between steps and parallel workflow branches

• Experience designing and implementing scalable systems; horizontal scaling of workers in Temporal (or similar), concurrency control, and removal of bottlenecks

• PostgreSQL experience with large data volumes: query optimization, indexes, partitioning, transactions, migrations

• Redis experience (or similar): caching, TTL, invalidation, and data consistency

• Deployment and maintenance experience on Azure or AWS; familiarity with one and readiness to work in the other

• REST APIs, webhooks, and SSE; authentication/authorization, tenant data isolation, and secret management

• Docker, CI/CD, integration and load tests, monitoring, and production incident diagnostics

• Experience working with AI agents for code implementation, testing, or analysis; ability to review their changes and continue working in that setup

• English proficiency at C1 level
