Description

Provides clinical and clerical support to neurology providers and patient care teams, performing back-office and patient-related tasks that help ensure high-quality patient care. Performs basic medical assisting duties under clinician direction, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, administering injections, and communicating sensitively with patients and families. Supports departmental workflow and documentation using computer applications and an electronic health record (EHR).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (diploma within 90 days)

• Completion of a Medical Assistant externship (160 hours)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification

• 1 year of recent relevant experience
