Description

Provides clinical and clerical support to podiatry providers and members of the patient care team by performing back-office and patient-related tasks that help deliver high-quality care. Helps ensure smooth patient and workflow in the department and supports the implementation of the medical plan of care under clinician direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical assistance to support patient care delivery
• Prepare patients for exams and perform basic medical assisting tasks
• Take vital signs and administer injections as appropriate
• Interpret instructions/data from written, oral, diagram, or scheduled sources
• Communicate clearly and professionally, including explaining sensitive information
• Use time management and organization to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
• Support department workflow and patient flow within standardized procedures
• Assist with basic administrative/clinical workflows using computers and EHR systems

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (diploma within 90 days)
• Completion of a Medical Assistant externship (160 hours)
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification
• 1 year of recent relevant experience
