Description

Provides clinical and clerical support to cardiology providers and the patient care team(s) by performing back-office and patient-related tasks that help deliver high-quality patient care. Helps ensure smooth patient flow and assists the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care, under the direction of a clinician.

Responsibilities

• Perform back-office and patient-related clinical support tasks for the cardiology team
• Take vital signs and prepare patients for exams
• Administer injections as appropriate
• Interpret data and follow written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and other providers
• Support efficient workflow and prioritization within established procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (diploma required within 90 days)
• Medical Assistant externship completion (160 hours)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification
• 1 year of recent relevant experience
