• Schedule: Monday–Friday, days (8-hour shifts); weekend coverage as needed (Saturday/Sunday)

Description

Provides clinical and clerical support to pediatric providers and the patient care team by performing back-office and patient-related tasks that help deliver high-quality care. Helps ensure smooth patient and departmental workflow and supports implementation of the medical plan of care under the direction of a clinician. Applies education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to promote cooperation from patients, families/support groups, and other providers.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of clinical and clerical back-office and patient-support tasks for the care team

• Take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and administer injections

• Interpret data and instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

• Communicate clearly and professionally, including when explaining sensitive information to diverse audiences

• Manage assignments, prioritize work, and follow standardized operating procedures to meet objectives and deadlines

• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with interruptions

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (diploma required within 90 days)

• Medical Assistant externship completion (160 hours)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification

• 1 year of recent relevant experience
