Description

Provide prompt and comprehensive emergency care for a wide range of acute illnesses and emergencies. Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose and stabilize life-threatening conditions, and develop treatment plans. Perform emergency procedures as needed, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and document care accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients (history, physical exam, diagnostic tests)
• Diagnose and stabilize critical conditions
• Develop and implement treatment plans for acute medical/surgical emergencies
• Perform emergency procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care, splinting)
• Order and interpret tests (e.g., X-rays, CT scans)
• Prescribe medications and manage pain
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams
• Document patient care accurately
• Maintain calm professionalism in high-pressure situations

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in emergency, internal, or family medicine (ABEM/ABIM/ABFM) or AOA
• Active and unrestricted Florida medical license
• Board certification
• 1+ year ED experience (preferred)
