Description

Provide emergency care as a locum Nurse Practitioner in an acute care hospital with scheduled shifts plus on-call coverage. The 13-week assignment starts 01-04-27 and runs 19:00–07:00 8-hour shifts. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, diagnostic testing, medication management, procedures as permitted, patient education, documentation, and coordination with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions

• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices

• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty

• Collaborate with physicians and other providers for coordinated care

• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

Requirements

• Education: MSN focused on an NP specialty (e.g., adult-gerontology, pediatrics, family practice)

• Licensure: Active, unencumbered APRN license in Virginia

• Certification: National NP certification in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., AANP)

• Experience: At least one year of relevant clinical experience (preferred)
