Description

Develop and optimize Shopify eCommerce websites by building custom Shopify themes, reusable sections/blocks, and front-end components. Extend functionality using Liquid and the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API, integrate and customize third-party apps and extensions, and migrate sites to Shopify. Support page speed, SEO, and CRO best practices across Shopify implementations.

Responsibilities

• Build custom Shopify sections, blocks, and reusable front-end components

• Optimize and extend core Shopify theme features for performance and maintainability

• Use Storefront GraphQL API for advanced features beyond standard Liquid

• Integrate and customize third-party apps and Shopify extensions (including checkout experiences)

• Extend Shopify functionality using Storefront APIs, Liquid, metafields, metaobjects, and related tools

• Set up payment integrations, shipping methods, taxes, and other Shopify configurations

• Optimize for page speed, performance, SEO, and conversion rate optimization

• Transform PSD layouts into pixel-perfect HTML5/CSS3 templates

• Create responsive, cross-browser-compatible website designs

• Work with version control systems such as Git or SVN

• Perform QA before submission and manage multiple projects/deadlines

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Shopify website development

• Strong knowledge of the Shopify platform

• Experience creating custom sections from scratch and reusable front-end components within Shopify themes

• Expert-level Shopify Liquid and Shopify theme development/customization

• Advanced knowledge of Shopify Metafields and Metaobjects (including Shopify Search & Discovery)

• Familiarity with Shopify CLI

• Proficiency with Shopify Storefront GraphQL API

• Experience with Shopify JS APIs (Storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections, and related APIs)

• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/ECMAScript, and experience with jQuery

• Responsive design expertise and strong cross-browser compatibility knowledge

• Understanding of W3C standards, semantic HTML, and accessibility guidelines

• Strong English communication and collaboration skills

• Proactive ownership, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects

• Ability to work 40 hours/week, Mon–Fri (9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. PT) with reliable remote equipment
