Description

Remote Solutions Architect responsible for defining, planning, scoping, and executing web design and development projects. Works with sales, strategy, project managers, designers, and developers to deliver platform recommendations and best-practices guidance. May also support higher-complexity front-end or back-end development as needed.

Responsibilities

• Educate prospects on eCommerce/CMS platform solutions (BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress and others)

• Provide consultative, best-practices recommendations aligned with business goals, technical requirements, analytics, and client needs

• Conduct needs analysis and technical scoping sessions

• Gather, document, and organize key project requirements

• Deliver pre-sales technical consulting via demos, calls, and site visits with project managers

• Document prospective client needs, technical requirements, and project scope

• Act as a technical advisor for sales and marketing during prospect discussions

• Support proposals and RFP responses with the sales team

• Ensure technical recommendations clearly and accurately address client requirements

• Coordinate third-party partners/solutions when custom solutions are required

• Create technical content such as thought leadership, white papers, and sales/marketing collateral

• Develop internal processes and best practices

• Stay current with major platform features and capabilities

• Lead internal planning and recurring solution development for frequent client needs

• Support discovery with design and project management teams and ensure UX best practices are considered

• Provide emergency development support for key clients and major accounts

Requirements

• 4 to 5+ years of solutions engineering experience (or similar senior-level development experience)

• Strong knowledge of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP

• Experience with eCommerce and CMS platforms: BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress

• Experience with solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstrations

• Ability to present consultatively to C-level executives

• Ability to conduct detailed technical discussions with technical audiences

• Experience with commerce solutions and applications: POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, payment gateways

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups
