Description

Lead a portfolio of full-stack engineering projects and manage developer teams building distributed microservices and cloud-based solutions. Drive technical strategy and major technology transformations while mentoring talent and collaborating with digital product and architecture/platform leaders. Deliver end-to-end design and implementation for large-scale, distributed, and cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams working across distributed microservices and full-stack systems to meet regulatory needs

• Stay current with technology trends and contribute by mentoring, experimenting with new technologies, and occasionally coding/evaluating code

• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions and experiences

• Lead Agile engineering teams/programs, providing strategic direction for large-scale cross-functional initiatives

• Define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities with product, architecture, and platform leaders

• Develop and manage lead engineers, manage succession planning, and scale leadership capabilities

• Drive alignment between engineering execution and enterprise goals

• Lead end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale distributed/cloud-native systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field

• 6+ years software engineering experience

• 3+ years public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) or cloud-based productivity tools or virtualization technologies

• 3+ years people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• Experience leading architectural design reviews and setting enterprise technical standards

• 4+ years with database and database management systems

• 4+ years with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks

• 4+ years using Git-based version control (Git/GitHub/Bitbucket)

• 4+ years troubleshooting in cloud environments

• 5+ years contributing to open-source frameworks

• 5+ years with front-end JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks

• Experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs

• 9+ years coding with more than two of: Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala

• Experience with modern AI-based coding tools and IDE copilots

• Experience managing multi-team organizations or leading strategic programs across domains

• Experience defining and tracking engineering OKRs aligned to business outcomes

• Experience presenting technology roadmaps and investment cases to executive leadership
