Description

Lead hands-on development and evolution of a full-stack, cloud-hosted self-service portal, owning architecture, design, and delivery of secure, scalable solutions. You will build full-stack features with Java/Spring Boot and React, drive microservices architecture on the cloud, and provide technical direction and mentoring to engineers. You will collaborate with product, QA, architects, and stakeholders to refine requirements, assess feasibility, and solve complex production issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, design, development, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery

• Design, develop, test, and implement full-stack solutions using Java, Spring/Spring Boot, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, and SQL

• Drive evolution of cloud-hosted microservices for scalability, resilience, security, and observability

• Ensure alignment with broader architecture, engineering standards, and platform strategy

• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions

• Lead technical analysis and problem solving for complex issues across application, integration, database, infrastructure, and cloud components

• Promote strong engineering practices through automated testing, CI/CD, observability, secure development, and operational readiness

• Coordinate cross-team dependencies, integrations, technical changes, risks, and delivery activities

• Mentor engineers in a geographically distributed team through coaching, design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing

• Participate actively in Agile development (sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, retrospectives, and other ceremonies)

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and delivering complex enterprise software independently

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot, plus modern front-end development (React preferred)

• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems (integration, resiliency, scalability, troubleshooting)

• Experience developing and operating applications in a cloud environment, preferably Microsoft Azure (containers, Kubernetes/AKS, cloud-native services)

• Strong experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL

• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, API, UI testing)

• CI/CD and modern DevOps experience with automated build, test, and deployment pipelines

• Observability and production troubleshooting experience (logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring such as Dynatrace, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage technical complexity

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• BS degree in a technical field required; MS strongly preferred

• At least 5 years working in an Agile methodology strongly desired; financial services or complex enterprise experience strongly desired
