Description

Provide daily outpatient urology care, evaluating patients, ordering/analyzing tests, diagnosing conditions, and developing treatment plans. You will prescribe and monitor medications, document patient progress, and counsel and educate patients and their families. You will also collaborate with other medical staff to determine treatment and recovery goals.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients through conversations, interviews, and observations
• Administer patient tests or request testing/lab work; analyze patient data and results
• Diagnose patients and determine appropriate psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorder care as needed
• Collaborate with patients’ physicians and other medical staff to determine treatment
• Set patient goals and discuss treatment plans
• Establish timelines, tasks, and medical needs
• Analyze the best medications or therapy to help patients reach goals
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient intake
• Document patient records and progress, including symptoms, medications, and treatments
• Counsel patients and listen to their reactions to treatment
• Provide emotional tools and methods for recovery
• Educate patients, families, significant others, and relevant parties on progress, treatment, and future goals

Requirements

• MD or Doctor of Urology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Urology
• Successful completion of an approved Endocrinology residency training program
• Active New York State medical practitioner license
• Current DEA and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required
