Description

Provide high-quality, patient-centered inpatient care for individuals admitted to the hospital. You will diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions, develop treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and monitor patient progress. You will also coordinate with the care team, complete discharge planning and patient education, and maintain accurate documentation and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations: medical histories and physical exams

• Diagnose and manage medical conditions; develop and implement treatment plans

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (blood work and imaging studies)

• Perform medical procedures as necessary and within scope of practice

• Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other team members

• Communicate with patients and families about treatment plans, progress, and prognosis

• Provide discharge planning and patient education for continuity of care

• Maintain accurate medical records: progress notes, discharge summaries, and orders

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and best-practice development

• Stay updated on medical advancements and integrate new knowledge into practice

• Attend hospital meetings (rounds and case discussions)

• Coordinate admissions and discharges; manage patient flow

• Respond to urgent medical situations and provide critical care when needed

• Participate in on-call duties as required

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

• Valid medical license in the state of practice

• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR)

• Prior hospital experience preferred; new graduates may be considered
