Description

You will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, with an emphasis on how diseases spread, how the body fights them, and how to control them. The role involves reviewing patient records and referrals, running and interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating viable treatment plans. You will also support immunizations, prevention education, and community outbreak identification and response.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records, including x-rays, blood work, and other lab tests
• Review referral information from other medical professionals
• Run diagnostic tests for unidentified or drug-resistant infections
• Analyze test results to create treatment plans
• Consult with other medical professionals on complex infection cases
• Conduct physical exams and order additional laboratory tests
• Administer immunizations or instruct patients on infectious disease prevention
• Provide treatment regimens tailored to specific patient and population needs
• Work with communities to identify outbreaks and recommend measures to prevent spread
• Conduct research on new strains and track community statistics related to spread and treatment effectiveness

Requirements

• Valid NYS Medical License
• Certification demonstrating knowledge of infectious disease treatment, spread, containment, and outcomes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual Spanish fluency strongly preferred

• Salary: $180,000-$250,000
