Description

The Infectious Disease Physician has extensive training in internal medicine and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease, with a focus on how diseases spread, how the body fights them, and how to control them.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records, including X-rays, blood work, and other lab tests

• Review referral information from other medical professionals

• Run diagnostic tests for unidentified or drug-resistant infections

• Analyze test results to develop viable treatment plans

• Consult with other medical professionals on difficult infection cases

• Conduct physical exams and order additional laboratory tests

• Administer immunizations or instruct patients on infectious disease prevention

• Provide tailored treatment regimens based on individual patient and population needs

• Work with communities to identify outbreaks and recommend treatment options to prevent spread

• Conduct research on new strains and track community statistics on spread and treatment effectiveness

Requirements

• Valid NYS Medical License

• Certification/knowledge of infectious disease treatment, spread, containment, and patient outcomes

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bilingual Spanish fluency strongly preferred

• Board Eligible or Board Certified

Benefits

• Salary range: $180,000-$250,000
