Description

The Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced primary and/or specialty care to patients. Responsibilities include performing physical exams, documenting patient histories, creating care plans, administering diagnostic tests, and diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions in general practice.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients

• Ensure quality care in line with the organization’s care commitment

• Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information

• Document past medical, family, and social history, review of systems, examinations, medications, allergies, assessment, and plan

• Order and/or execute tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging

• Analyze test reports and examination findings to diagnose conditions

• Administer or prescribe treatments

• Order lab and imaging tests to support an immediate treatment plan

• Vaccinate patients to immunize against communicable diseases

• Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention

• Consult specialists and refer patients within the network when necessary

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program (Family or Adult/Geriatrics)

• Current New York State License as a Nurse Practitioner

• National Board Certification (AANP, ANCC, or ONCC)
