Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer / Java Tech Lead to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems. The role focuses on Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices, and strong test-first development practices using TDD. BDD experience with Cucumber is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 8+ and Spring Boot (3.x)
• Build RESTful APIs following microservices architecture principles
• Apply TDD (JUnit, Mockito, mocking frameworks) and BDD (Cucumber) to deliver high-quality, testable code
• Use in-memory databases such as H2 for rapid prototyping
• Write clean, maintainable, scalable code following SOLID principles and best practices
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and architectural improvements
• Troubleshoot production issues and propose robust solutions
• Document APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI or similar tools

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Java 8+ core features
• Deep understanding of Spring Framework/Spring Boot concepts (dependency injection, REST controllers, validations, exception handling, configuration)
• Experience with RESTful services and microservices architecture
• Strong hands-on TDD experience with JUnit, Mockito, and mocking frameworks
• Experience with unit testing and code coverage tools
• Experience with Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
