Description

You will develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, contribute to solution design, and support delivery throughout the development lifecycle. The role also provides opportunities to evaluate and apply modern technologies, including AI, LLMs, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications with Java and Spring Boot

• Lead technical initiatives and support engineers in delivering high-quality solutions

• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to understand business needs

• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution design

• Write clean, maintainable, scalable code following engineering best practices

• Review code, mentor team members, and promote high engineering standards

• Identify technical challenges and proactively propose improvements

• Support software delivery across the entire development lifecycle

• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, CI/CD, and engineering practices

• Explore and evaluate new technologies and engineering approaches

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial software development experience

• Very good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development

• Experience acting as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or senior technical mentor

• Experience developing distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven applications

• Experience with REST APIs, Kafka/RabbitMQ messaging, and system integrations

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB)

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Strong understanding of software design principles, scalability, security, and performance optimization

• Ability to support technical decision-making and guide development teams

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive ownership mindset

• Willingness to evaluate and adopt new technologies that create business value

• English and German at B2 level or higher
