Description

As a Business Analyst in an Agile product development environment, you will analyze banking regulations and translate them into effective software solutions and functional specifications. You will perform data gap analysis, data modeling and mapping, define business/validation rules, and implement functional logic using SQL. You will also support UAT and regression testing, maintain user and technical-functional documentation, and resolve functional tickets for customer projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze regulations and business/client requirements from national and international banking authorities

• Translate regulations into functional specifications (data gap analysis, data modeling & mapping, business/validation rules)

• Implement functional requirements using SQL

• Create and validate functional scenarios and test data; conduct UAT and regression testing

• Collaborate with Product Owners and subject matter experts to understand product roadmaps

• Maintain detailed end-user documentation and internal technical-functional guides

• Support customer projects and resolve functional tickets

• Collaborate across teams and stakeholders

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a bank, financial institution, or IT firm in the banking domain

• Regulatory reporting domain knowledge

• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting

• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) using tools like Jira and Confluence

• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills

• Primary key skills: Regulatory Reporting, Basel III/Basel IV, PD, LGD, EAD, SQL, Credit risk, Banking Domain Experience

• Degree in Finance, Business, IT, Mathematics, Economics, or Chartered Accountants/ICWA (preferred)

• Technical affinity (plus): XML, XBRL, JSON, MS Excel/Access

• Basic understanding of banking products, financial instruments, and financial markets

• Accounting knowledge (balance sheets, P&L)

• Knowledge of market risk and counterparty credit risk and Basel accords (advantageous)
