Description

Build and deploy applications in the Benchling platform to support laboratory operations. Partner with scientific teams to translate complex research requirements into reliable, well-engineered software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and deploy applications within the Benchling platform using the Python SDK and REST APIs
• Configure Benchling standard modules, including Inventory, Registry, and Workflows, to support sample tracking and laboratory processes
• Design and implement integrations between Benchling and other systems using RESTful APIs and integration frameworks
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure software quality
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback; document technical processes and solutions
• Collaborate with scientists and stakeholders to translate scientific requirements into clear technical specifications
• Ensure compliance with GxP, FDA, and HIPAA while maintaining data integrity throughout the software lifecycle
• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, scientific concepts, and regulatory changes

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of software development experience (preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech industry)
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Deep understanding of the Benchling platform (Apps development, configuration, data model, automation)
• Strong grasp of RESTful APIs, data transformation, and integration patterns
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases/data modeling
• Clean code principles, modular design, Git, and CI/CD practices
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• English level: B2 (Upper-Intermediate)
