Description

Build, customize, and deploy laboratory-focused applications within the Benchling platform. You’ll partner with scientific teams to translate research needs into reliable software, implement integrations via REST APIs, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards while preserving data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and deploy applications within the Benchling platform using the Python SDK and REST APIs
• Configure Benchling standard modules, including Inventory, Registry, and Workflows
• Design and implement integrations between Benchling and other systems using RESTful APIs and integration frameworks
• Write clean, maintainable code and perform thorough testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end)
• Participate in code reviews and contribute documentation for technical processes and solutions
• Collaborate with scientists and stakeholders to convert scientific requirements into technical specifications
• Ensure compliance with GxP, FDA, and HIPAA while maintaining data integrity throughout the software lifecycle
• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, scientific concepts, and regulatory changes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of software development experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Deep understanding of Benchling (Apps development, configuration, data model, automation)
• Strong grasp of RESTful APIs, data transformation, and integration patterns
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases with data modeling knowledge
• Clean code principles, modular design, Git, and CI/CD practices
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• English proficiency: B2 (Upper-Intermediate)
