Description

You will support the installation, routing, and documentation of structured network cabling (fiber optics and copper) and help ensure it meets standards and quality requirements. You will diagnose network issues, localize faults using modern measurement and diagnostic tools, commission and configure network switches, and integrate new components into existing network environments. You will also manage and maintain patch fields and contribute to building, expanding, and maintaining network backbone connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, and document structured network cabling for fiber optic (LWL) and copper (Twisted Pair)
• Analyze network outages, localize faults using measurement/diagnostic equipment, and implement sustainable fixes
• Commission network switches, configure them, and maintain/enhance existing network environments
• Patch fiber and copper connections and manage patch panels/fields
• Work on central backbone connections and assist with network infrastructure build-out, expansion, and maintenance
• Coordinate technical requirements and align projects with customers, external service providers, and internal teams

Requirements

• Completed training as Fachinformatiker for Systemintegration, Informationselektroniker, IT-Systemelektroniker, or comparable qualification; or a motivated career changer with strong network engineering knowledge
• Practical experience installing, maintaining, or operating network infrastructures (ideal)
• Ability to work structured, precise, and quality-focused while staying curious about new technologies
• Independent, reliable, and solution-oriented work style with a professional, customer-focused service approach
• Willingness to support customers and projects on-site with a driver’s license (class B)
• Strong German (written and spoken) and solid English skills
