Description

Lead and develop the Software R&D and Professional Services teams in an international, technology-diverse environment. Combine people leadership and coaching with resource planning, task prioritization, and professional, transparent steering of customer implementations. Drive continuous improvement by standardizing recurring service processes, tracking relevant KPIs, and supporting innovation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for Software R&D and Professional Services
• Coach team members with regular feedback and development discussions; promote individual strengths
• Plan resources, capacity, and deployment across product development and customer projects
• Prioritize and coordinate tasks in close collaboration with Product Management, engineering leads, Sales, and other interfaces
• Steer customer implementations using traceable processes, realistic plans, and transparent communication
• Develop Professional-Services structures and support standardization of recurring implementation and service routines
• Identify bottlenecks, dependencies, and project risks early and coordinate mitigation measures
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement
• Support teams in using modern working methods, project planning tools, and AI-enabled tools
• Track KPIs to assess capacity utilization, predictability, delivery capability, and customer satisfaction
• Represent the teams to internal and external stakeholders; participate in customer visits and trade shows with about 10–20% travel
• Monitor and evaluate new technologies and trends and initiate/drive innovations for continuous improvement of software, processes, and ways of working

Requirements

• Multi-year experience in leading and developing employees in a software/technology or similar technical environment
• Experience managing Professional Services, technical customer projects, or complex implementations
• Proficiency in resource planning, prioritization, project steering, and cross-functional coordination
• Good understanding of modern software development processes and technical interdependencies; C++ or software architecture experience is welcome
• Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science/Software Engineering/Mathematics/Physics/Electrical Engineering) or IT training with relevant experience
• Clear, respectful communication; confident and modern enabling leadership mindset
• Willingness to delegate, coach, and promote autonomous working styles
• Advantage: experience with Jira, GitLab, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Salesforce, or comparable tools
• Interest in responsible, productive use of AI tools in day-to-day work
• Very good German and English; willingness to travel
