Description

Lead a software development department, including technical and people management, software architecture, and development process definition and improvement. Own the machine control platform, product roadmap execution, and release management for software. Ensure software quality, adherence to standards, project timelines, and knowledge documentation, while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership of employees; lead the software department
  • Define and continuously develop software architecture in the Komax SLE and within the business unit
  • Build, implement, and enforce software development processes and methods
  • Continuously improve software development processes to increase efficiency and quality
  • Define, implement, and maintain the machine control platform
  • Implement the product roadmap and manage software releases
  • Ensure software quality and compliance with development standards in customer and development projects
  • Operate planning for programming tasks and adherence to project deadlines
  • Collaborate regularly with other departments and stakeholders (including universities and external development offices)
  • Ensure compliance with legal and corporate regulations in the software department, including the Machinery Directive and Machinery Regulation
  • Ensure knowledge documentation is maintained in the software department

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Engineering with a focus on software development (or comparable training)
  • Required: experience in programming and leading software teams or departments in mechanical/equipment/system engineering
  • Good knowledge of high-level programming (C#, C++) and PLC programming (Structured Text / TwinCAT 3)
  • Optional: knowledge of image processing (OpenCV)
  • Ideally: experience with standardization and industrialization of machines, systems, and devices
  • Competence in agile development methods
  • Knowledge of design-to-cost; initial experience in systematic cost optimization is desirable
  • High personal initiative, responsibility, leadership and decision-making competence
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking; strong problem-solving ability
  • Good English skills (spoken and written)
  • Willingness for international travel
