PROJECTJoin a global engineering environment focused on building, maintaining, and optimising a reliable and scalable Kafka streaming platform.You will work with Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka, Kubernetes, and automation tools, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience of enterprise messaging infrastructure.The role combines Kafka platform engineering, infrastructure automation, production support, and performance optimisation, with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.YOU WILLDeploy, configure, and maintain Kafka infrastructure, including brokers, ZooKeeper/KRaft, Kafka Connect, and Schema Registry.Manage Kafka components running on Kubernetes, including scaling, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting.Administer Kafka clusters, including provisioning and managing topics, access permissions, and role bindings.Configure and maintain Kafka connectors for integrations with MQ, Splunk, MongoDB, and GCP Pub/Sub.Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure platform reliability.Automate infrastructure operations and maintenance activities using scripting and DevOps tools.Perform performance benchmarking, analysis, and tuning to optimise Kafka clusters.Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventative improvements.Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams and stakeholders.MUST HAVEStrong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and/or Confluent Kafka.Deep understanding of Kafka architecture, including brokers, ZooKeeper/KRaft, Kafka Connect, and Schema Registry.Practical experience with Kubernetes and containerised infrastructure.Experience administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting production Kafka clusters.Knowledge of Kafka Connect, including connectors, workers, tasks, converters, and SMTs.Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and infrastructure automation.Knowledge of monitoring, performance tuning, and incident management.Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.Very good English communication skills and ability to work in a global environment.NICE TO HAVEExperience integrating Kafka with MQ, Splunk, MongoDB, or GCP Pub/Sub.Experience with Kafka performance benchmarking and capacity planning.Knowledge of scripting languages used for infrastructure automation.Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.OUR OFFERThe relocation package (4500 PLN total value) is paid in three installments (1500 PLN per month) if your permanent office presence is mandatory and you need to relocate from another cityBenefits: Extended medical care (over 2000 medical facilities in Poland, 80 in Kraków) for you and your family; Multisport card; Life insurance
