Description

Build a standalone data department from vision to execution—own the target architecture, priorities, and roadmap. You will work hands-on on the data platform, integrate source systems, automate data flows in Keboola, and modernize reporting by migrating from Tableau to Power BI with certified datasets and self-service reporting. You will also prepare a data foundation and semantic layer for AI agents, ensure data quality and security, and lead a team of data and BI specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run an independent data department

  • Translate the department vision into architecture, priorities, and an execution plan

  • Implement and operate the data platform and automate data flows

  • Integrate source systems (hotel/reservation systems, SAP, CRM, and others)

  • Lead the move from Tableau to Power BI

  • Build certified data sets and enable self-service reporting

  • Prepare data for AI (data foundation + semantic layer) and validate AI outputs against sources

  • Define and enforce data quality, governance standards, and security rules

  • Assemble and manage the team (data engineer, BI analyst, AI specialist) and coordinate external report development

Requirements

  • 5+ years in data and 3+ years in a leading/management role

  • Experience designing and governing a data platform (warehouse, integration layer, semantic layer)

  • Ability to integrate ERP/CRM and operational/reservation systems and automate data flows

  • Strong Power BI skills, including certified datasets and self-service reporting (Tableau migration experience is a plus)

  • Data governance knowledge with business-owned data and technical stewardship by the data team

  • Understanding of AI agents’ data needs and ability to measure AI outputs vs. source data

  • Experience with delivery planning: capacity, integration effort estimation, and coordination of internal and external contributors

  • Degree in IT, economics, statistics, or related field (practical experience is also valued)
