Description

Lead a people-first Data Analytics team of 5 analysts developing production analytics in collaboration with client subject-matter experts. You’ll guide technical direction with hands-on credibility in a modern Python data stack (Python, Polars, marimo, Databricks) while owning coaching, performance/compensation, retention, staffing, and delivery quality. Your goal in the first year is to grow individual contributors into future lead engineers and specialized roles.

Responsibilities

  • Line management: run regular 1:1s, coaching, shadowing, and career development for analysts
  • Performance & fairness: conduct performance and compensation reviews based on impact
  • Retention & culture: maintain and evolve a motivating, sustainable environment aligned with team values
  • Staffing: hire, onboard, and integrate new team members technically and culturally
  • Capacity & delivery standards: keep the team optimally staffed against client demand and ensure high-quality delivery
  • Translating strategy: convert department goals into execution clarity and represent team reality upward

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading a technical team in a B2B environment, covering hiring, coaching, performance, and retention for a team of similar size
  • Strong hands-on background in modern data/analytics engineering (Python, SQL), ideally with Polars and/or Databricks (or similar tools)
  • Demonstrated track record of growing individual contributors into more senior or specialized roles (top priority in year one)
  • Excellent coaching, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Comfort with operational leadership tasks (performance & compensation reviews, capacity planning, reporting, compliance)
  • Business proficiency in Czech and English
