Description

You will lead hands-on, end-to-end Jira migrations from Server to Cloud, ensuring seamless transitions, data integrity, and optimized configurations. The role includes analyzing existing Jira configuration, migrating core project data, validating results, troubleshooting errors, and optimizing Jira Cloud setups. You will also coordinate user/access changes, SSO integrations, and the migration or replacement of apps/plugins with Cloud-compatible alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute end-to-end migrations from Jira Server to Jira Cloud
• Analyze existing Jira configurations: projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, screens, and automations
• Identify migration risks, dependencies, and data limitations
• Use Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and/or third-party migration tools
• Migrate Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Jira Work Management projects (issues, attachments, comments, custom fields, users, groups, permissions)
• Perform data validation and reconciliation after migration
• Troubleshoot migration errors and resolve data inconsistencies
• Optimize Jira Cloud configuration using Cloud best practices
• Configure Jira Cloud projects, workflows, permissions, and automation rules
• Manage users, groups, access control, and SSO integrations
• Coordinate app/plugin migration and replacement with Cloud-compatible alternatives
• Maintain documentation of migration steps, configurations, and decisions

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator with hands-on work across Jira Server and Jira Cloud
• Proven experience migrating Jira projects from Data Center/Server to Cloud
• Understanding of workflows, schemes, custom fields, and permissions across Jira Software and Jira Service Management
• Experience with Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA)
• Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace apps and Cloud compatibility requirements
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
• Comfortable working independently and making migration decisions
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
