Description

You will combine business and systems analysis with product ownership to understand complex existing systems and translate business needs into clear requirements and a prioritized delivery backlog. You will reverse-engineer business rules and operational processes, design target-state workflows, integrations, portals, and monitoring/reporting use cases, and support UAT and go-live documentation. The role requires strong technical understanding of data, integrations, APIs, and existing business logic.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the existing solution by reviewing Java/Spring code, Oracle schemas, PL/SQL, configuration, and data samples

• Map current operational processes (manual and semi-automated) and identify pain points, workarounds, and risks

• Produce As-Is documentation (process maps, integration and data-flow diagrams, business-rule catalogue, gap analysis)

• Design Target (To-Be) processes, including exception handling, operational monitoring, and analytics/reporting use cases enabled by Databricks

• Define portals and operational tooling (roles, user journeys, screen-level functional specifications, wireframes, dependent data and APIs)

• Specify business rules, data mappings, and integration behavior with architects and engineers

• Define transition/functional aspects (migration scope, parallel run & cutover, fallback procedures, business acceptance criteria)

• Own and prioritize the product backlog (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, scope trade-offs against the delivery plan)

• Run workshops and act as the main functional point of contact for stakeholders

• Ensure non-functional business needs (availability, performance, auditability, data protection) are reflected in processes and portal design

• Support UAT, accept delivered functionality, and prepare process documentation and user training materials

Requirements

• At least 4+ years of commercial experience as Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Systems Analyst

• Proven experience performing As-Is / To-Be reconstruction and target-state design for modernization, migration, or integration projects

• Ability to read code (ideally Java/Spring) and write SQL (Oracle/PostgreSQL) to understand and verify existing logic

• Strong process-modeling skills and experience documenting business rules and data mappings

• Experience defining portals/internal tooling from the business side (roles, journeys, wireframes such as Figma/Miro, functional specifications)

• Good understanding of cloud architectures (ideally Azure), integrations, REST APIs, and data platforms such as Databricks

• Hands-on backlog management: clear user stories and testable acceptance criteria (Jira/Confluence or equivalent)

• Comfort with business-critical operational systems where downtime and errors have real-world impact

• Experience using AI assistants to speed up analysis and documentation

• Excellent English communication (C1) and strong workshop facilitation skills
