Description

Operate and maintain Multi-Tenant cloud platforms based on OpenStack and VMware across data center locations. Manage day-to-day operations from provisioning customer-specific environments to ensuring stability, performance, and SLA/security compliance. Handle lifecycle management (monitoring, patching, firmware updates, configuration changes), migrations, backups, incident/change/problem management, and automation, with team on-call and occasional on-site customer support.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Multi-Tenant cloud platform components (OpenStack/VMware)
• Build and integrate network, firewall, storage, and compute components into existing platform landscapes
• Perform lifecycle management: monitoring, patching, firmware updates, and configuration changes
• Provision tenant-specific environments within the shared platform (network segments, resources, backup scopes)
• Execute migrations to the shared cloud, including configuration and documentation
• Enforce customer SLAs, backup targets, and security settings
• Operate and monitor central platform backups (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik)
• Support incident, change, and problem management on both tenant and platform level
• Support housing operations with remote hands and operational monitoring for customer hardware
• Use monitoring and event handling to meet SLAs and operational standards
• Participate in team on-call rotation
• Automate recurring operational tasks
• Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks

Requirements

• Completed IT training or degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
• Experience operating cloud/virtualization platforms, especially OpenStack and VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, firewalling)
• Storage knowledge (SAN, NAS)
• Linux and/or Windows Server administration knowledge
• Basic backup knowledge (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik)
• Basic monitoring knowledge (CheckMK, N-central, Prometheus)
• Willingness for on-call duty and occasional on-site presence (typically 1–2 times per month)
• Structured, self-organized work style and high responsibility
• Communication skills, teamwork, and customer/partner collaboration
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing
• Multi-tenant operational experience with tenant-isolated environments
• Automation experience with Ansible, Terraform, or PowerCLI
• ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
• Experience with migration projects and functional ownership of platform components
